Our country needs leaders of character. Amid a shortage of empathy, resiliency, and integrity, students are suffering in their health, limited in their happiness, and underdeveloped in their character. Algorithms confine us to echo chambers, AI makes it difficult to find the truth, and society raises students in a culture intolerant of others.
Now, more than ever, it is our responsibility to educate and equip our children with the skills, talents, and knowledge they need to survive and thrive in an increasingly complex, complicated world. But today’s most important challenges, opportunities, and life-lessons are not being taught the classroom.
Too many of our children graduate from high school without embracing the benefits of a purpose-driven life. From service to sacrifice, from character to courage, from integrity to empathy, America’s youth desperately need the values and commitment similar to those taught to every cadet, every day… at West Point.
Society has taught students how to make statements, but they deserve a world that teaches them how to make a meaningful, measurable difference. Bringing leadership and character education to younger generations is the antidote to our affliction.
By providing them with character-driven ideals and a framework for living a purposeful life, we will inform and transform young adults through leadership and character development to be the enlightened citizens, exceptional leaders, and extraordinary innovators we want, need, and deserve—one student at a time.
