The Pindar Team developed a passion for character-driven performance and leadership while attending West Point. For Thomas, he fostered his passion by serving as Class President and teaching underserved students throughout the US about West Point’s way of leadership, character, and ethics. Michael's passion was cultivated by helping lead the Army Men’s Tennis Team and devoting himself to intellectual and academic excellence. Christian nurtured his passion as a member of the Army Sprint Football Team and a lead scholar in West Point's Department of Social Sciences. When Thomas and Michael were reflecting on their personal development over dinner, they agreed that West Point’s character and leadership development model sets the institution apart, and our country needs a generation of young people who are taught these ideals at a younger age. From that conversation, Pindar was born.
During their freshman year at West Point, our founders read their favorite book, The Go Giver, and reflected together on the various lessons and principles the book taught them. Their favorite character was Pindar. Pindar, deriving his name from the ancient Greek Philosopher, is an older gentleman who seeks to teach the main character that success comes by focusing on giving and not receiving.
At Pindar Leadership and Education, we hold the same philosophy and believe that by giving teenagers a firm basis in character and leadership training, we can empower them to make an immediate meaningful, measurable difference in their communities and posture them for greater success throughout their lives.
